20 puzzles · 38–42 given numbers

Easy Sudoku (Large Print)

Start with a generous helping of numbers already in place. Each easy Sudoku has 38–42 givens on a standard nine-by-nine grid, leaving room to practice checking rows, columns, and three-by-three boxes. Fill each of those areas with the digits 1–9 exactly once. You do not need arithmetic: the numbers act as distinct symbols, and adding them together is not part of the rules.

About the easy level

Try a box with only a few spaces left. Work out which digits are missing, then check the crossing rows and columns before writing anything. A soft pencil makes corrections and small notes easier. The twenty puzzles below are different fixed grids, so a printed copy will match the numbered preview whenever you return.

Choose one puzzle per page for the most writing space. The four-per-page collection is a compact alternative for people who are comfortable with smaller cells. Both downloads put matching solutions at the end. Our easy label describes the clue range; the exact thinking needed varies by puzzle. Use a hint or pause whenever you like.

The rules in one minute

  • Every row must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Every column must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Every 3 by 3 box, outlined with a heavier line, must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Numbers are used as symbols. You never add or compare them.
